And it feels like I've added a brand new Archive release to the collection.Visit and support your local record stores, folks, you never know what gems you're gonna find ๐
Damn this version of "New Jersey Turnpike" is mint! Those synths ๐
Looking forward to hearing "They Shot You in the Back" eventually too. It's an I Come From Down the Valley album track I've been loving lately, so to hear a 1984 version should be great.
I guess to avoid copyright(?) the song titles on the vinyl discs actually aren't the proper titles of the songs. Instead of "Born in the U.S.A." it's labelled as "Born Down in a Dead Man's Town", and "Glory Days" happens to have the title "I'm Sick and Can't Cum". I'll take pictures sometime tomorrow, and hopefully when I listen to Side 3 I do hear "Glory Days" and not an even more explicit 1984 equivalent of "Reno".
That show is a great sounding recording. I rate it just below the gold standard for the BiUSA tour, Kansas City 11/19/84. There is another from Lincoln, Nebraska 11/18. I also believe there is a good one from Ames, Iowa.
JEMS just released a great recording from Oakland in 84 as well. Those are all great shows.
Curious what the going rate is for silver boots these days, having not bought one since about 1996. I used to pay 30 per disc at Tape And Record Room in Long Beach and Middle Earth Records in Downey. Or maybe it was Norwalk. Anyway, most full show boots were three discs so they were 90 each.
Those titles are hilarious!
"I'm gonna sit back right easy and laugh, when R. Boone and the Strongman bust the city in half WITH A!"
