At least I think this is new! I have just read a review in Mojo for 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' by Warren Zanes, which is billed as "the inside story of Bruce Springsteen's 1982 Masterpiece, Nebraska". It sounds like a good read. 4 stars in Mojo.

There is another new book out, called "Mary climbs in" by Lorraine Mangione and Donna Luff. It is supposed to discuss Bruce's attitude towards women and how they were affected by his lyrics, and why they became fans in spite of all the "little girl" and "baby" references. It is rather tedious, after pages and pages they still haven't arrived at their topic proper but continue to tell us what they wanted to establish with their survey. I continue to fight my way through it.
