Also, the artist is pretty fast. The longest I sat for any of these was 2 hours on @whispered secret 's favorite rattlesnake. That one was a bit painful, being on the soft inside of the arm and such a big one to color, but it wasn't ever anything you couldn't stand. The eagle vs. snake one is larger, but went on faster and was about equal in pain level. This one last night took like thirty minutes and it went on like butter.
That snake is beautiful, lady. It's straight greasy.
Yeah, face tattoos are a thing. I remember a guy in South Brunswick, NJ who was tatted all over his head. Some people are covered head to toe in ink. I'll never have a face tattoo.
@Jerseyfornia I have seen heads tattooed and thought how painful that must be, but this was the first I had seen on cheeks. Relieved to hear you will never go that far!

The Three of Swords shows a heart pierced by three swords, representing the pain inflicted by words, actions and intent on the emotional and physical self. The dark clouds gathering in the background mirror this pain but offer the hope that, just as the storm clouds will disappear, so too will the pain and hurt you are experiencing.
The swords piercing the skin look realistic and so your arm looks like it's been stabbed, which I am not sure is very pleasant!! However, I like the explanation, which can be seen as a reminder to yourself about actions having consequences.
I often forget it's there because I don't really see it
Yeah, I don't really see this one unless I twist my arm around to look at it, but it's placed to show when I'm riding my bike. I'll probably get the same tat on my other arm. I've got one on my right inner forearm that's in progress. It represents images from three of my books. I also have an awful one on my right upper arm that needs to be covered over. I expect both of my arms to be fairly well covered by the end of the year.
Next one is going to be a 3 of Swords tarot symbol. After that a Route 66 highway sign. I was born in 66 and traveled the highway many times so it has a double meaning. I've got plans for a howling coyote and one featuring a crossed pen and sword. I want to get something that represents my daughter, but not just her name in script. I'm trying to imagine how to do her name, Melody Rain, as an image. Maybe a cloud that's dropping musical notes instead of raindrops? I dunno. I'll figure it out.
Very cool! It's well done and has a nice inspiration.
I have one on my back, a nod to my Franco-American heritage. It's well done and I like it, but my main complaint is that I often forget it's there because I don't really see it. I'm thinking of getting another one soon. My ideas:
Clarence and Bruce from Born to Run on the upper right side of my chest. I would possibly do Pearl Jam's Stickman somewhere else, too.
The abolitionist John Brown with his final words on one of my arms - the base image would be a sketch of the statue in Osawatomie.
Something to represent the American cities I've lived in or are connected to - like PHI>PIT>NYC.
I don’t mind them. It’s like any other art form. Some of them are beautiful, some are hideous, and everything in between. Me, I was never able to come up with something I though was worthwhile tattooing. If I did, I guess I’d do it.
What really put me off them was looking after elderly men when I first started to work in the care sector. A lot of them had military backgrounds, where having the emblem of the regiment tattooed onto some body part seemed to be the thing to do. The sight of these on wrinkled old flesh was not a joy to behold.
In my opinion the thing with tattoos is that they have to correspond with who you are. A tough guy tattoo if you are a vain guy working at an advertising agency, having pedicure every second week will only make you look silly. At the gym I used to work out at was a guy in his 50's that was really nice but hard as nail when it came down to working out. One day in the dressing room I asked him about that badly drawn fish with a trident tatto on his shoulder. Turned out he was a former Navy Seal, immigrated to Sweden after his early retirement. That tattoo meant something and, ugly as hell as it was, looked really cool on him.
I also did a double take at that one... My knee jerk response at the time (and which I never wrote) was who is Gorgeous, and does Patti know about her? 😂
There's only one that's worth reproducing. I have an Iona cross on my upper arm, the wife and I got matching Celtic knots on our shoulders nineteen years ago on our first trip to NY.
I have an Aberdeen FC badge on my leg that was a bit of a disaster from the off and needs covered up.
I have a NY Giants logo on my wrist with the numerals of their four Superbowls underneath.
Whisper it....I have a "Tramp Stamp".
In my defence, it was a before a Tramp Stamp was a thing. Again, the Missus and I got matching ones .... at the time we thought "Yes, small of the back, that'll be nice............".
My best one, again, I got done in New York. Paid a right silly amount of money for it.
It's a statue of Lady Liberty with some add-ons.
I'll post a pic when I get a chance and explain.
It's getting close to touch up time for that one also.
I love the style of these! It makes me want to book another tattoo soon. Even though my last one was only a month ago
Nevermore...
Why do your posts always make songs pop into my head?
Not saying they don't look cool Boss, all I know is every time I see your pics of new ones my initial thought is: OUCH.

The rattlesnake is horrible!! I am terrified of snakes, if ever I met you, you would have to keep that one covered up!!!
I saw a young lad yesterday who appeared to have tattoos on his face - is that possible? I am hoping they were not proper tats?
This one was a little more painful than the others....
Rattlesnake
In the white bone wastes
Where the desert boiled
In the shadow of a stone
A rattlesnake lay coiled
It's diamond skin so dry
But shining as if oiled
And I drew close to it
And I was not afraid
I heard it warn me off
I saw its fangs displayed
In case I'd come to chase it
From its savage shade
And though I could have killed it
With a sharpened stick or a stone
I came not to plunder, but to seek
shade of my own
The rattlesnake and I
Both better left alone

I haven't heard the song but.... Ouch!
I have mates with tats in various places (arms, back, shoulders, chests) which they shave regularly so the ink can be better seen.
I see you had to shave your arm for the tattoo, and now I'm thinking whether the hair grows back or not. I would imagine not.
And another question. Does tattooed skin smell differently?
Apologies to Miss Whisper...
3 of Swords.

Gus just got the letter to you album cover.
I hope he shows us
I have heard people say they are addictive...

I'm sorry to say I don't like tattoos. Very old-fashioned of me, I know. 😌
I was shocked last week when WS posted this 😊
I am sure you will not be surprised to hear that I don't have any!
I don't generally like them, but I will make an exception in the case of that one JF - subtly Bruce, without being obvious.
Superb. I have a few tats but it's been too long. I find them addictive.
