I’m looking forward to the tour later in the summer. I was checking out some of the recent set lists…nothing from Western Stars. I’m sorry about that. Why??!!

I still think Darkness On The Edge into Western Stars would be an incredible song pairing / sequence.
As orchestral as the WS album was in parts, I still think the horns could be subbed into an arrangement of some of these songs and work well within the context of this show. At the very least, as @Mario Brega pointed out, Tuscan Train or Sleepy Joe's Cafe should easily fit the show.
If / when Patti appears again, what about Stones?
Leaving the current tour aside, I think there is an incredible potential for a 'personal relationship journey' themed non-E Street tour show in the future. Where Bruce, either solo or (preferably) with a small band and string section do a show covering the individual arc I see represented in his catalogue by Tunnel Of Love > Human Touch / Lucky Town > Working On A Dream > Western Stars. Detouring through thematically and musically related songs such as Long Time Coming and Girls In Their Summer Clothes. I'd pay good bucks to hear that.

I'm one of those fans who not only doesn't care if the live version doesn't sound just like the record, I actively like it when it sounds different. So I loved those shows when he had a string section for "New York City Serenade," but I think it would have been equally cool if he'd had Nils really work up a pedal steel arrangement to substitute, or something like that.
What's more, it's not like that album sold 25,000,000 copies and people are going to be outraged if the strings are played by Charlie on a synth.
Absolutely correct weight and all clear.
