The announcement is taking its time, and it seems like there are some Covid barriers not going down without an annoying fight, but let's be real here, the 2022 World Tour is going to happen. It has to. We're just waiting on the official announcement and reveal of tour dates. It could be any day or minute now...

The issue is, Rick, sourcing tickets, making travel plans, obtaining sufficient brownie points from spouse(!) all need to be undertaken a goodly ways in advance.
I feel no excitement about this right now. It's nearly a year away, and if I've learned anything since 2019, it's that a lot can change in a year. I'd be more excited about an album release announcement right now. Plenty of time to get in the mood for a tour that starts next year.
Ah.....
No likee festivals.
UK and Belgian dates to be announced later, but so far so good!
So it smells like 2023 Europe, rather than a "snap" 2022 job?
Also, it's an indoor venue..........but a very large indoor stadium, 40k for gigs according to Wiki.
On that basis, I'm guessing uk stadium dates June/July.
Album Autumn this year maybe?
I'm wondering if this will be marketed as the EStreet band's farewell tour?
Oh, Flynn from BTX? That makes sense.
Confirmed.
NBTB is a pod hosted by Hal Schwartz and Flynn McLean, who are arguably the two most reliable sources going.
Is that confirmed or more rumors? Dunno what the NBTB podcast is,
Paris 2023 confirmed.
Against my better judgement, I dipped my toe in the oily pond to see what they were saying. My God there are some negative people over there.
There's something happening somewhere...
Holy fuck... Tomorrow is the big news?!
WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....WTF.....
WTF.....WTF.....
Anyone?
So nice I'm posting it twice
I really need a ESB show. I have to admit that.
I remember saying a while ago I'd made my peace with the fact that I'd probably never see another "conventional " Bruce/ESB gig.
I hope I'm wrong, but, and this sounds dark.......apologies.....until his Mum passes I don't think he's doing a tour, certainly not outside the U.S.
Also, as long as Covid is still hovering I don't know if he's putting him and the band in harm's way.
Factor in the age they all are.........well, we'll see what happens.
Am I the only person who is concerned about this? The longer the wait goes on, the more I worry that we will get to see a 'lesser' Bruce & ESB and I don't want that. I know he can still sing and the band can still play, but can that incredible energy still be there, the energy which, in my book, raised Bruce & ESB above ordinary mortals.
Just my thoughts...
Jinxed this one didn't ya Mario lad 😬
So... When will the rumors start to spread if the tour is happening next year? Early fall?
Hugely unlikely to happen, but at this point I'd be happy with a US based residency of some sort, or three or four shows in various locations in the US that are streamed on a Pay Per View basis via You Tube.
JLM seem unable to think beyond the standard touring model. Sure, playing stadiums in Europe brings in the kaching kaching, but imagine a handful of shows at, say, Madison Square Garden, each one streamed and made available to subscribers at 40 bucks US a show or something similar. (With subscribers having 48 hours to watch them, so people on the other side of the planet don't have to wake in the middle of the night). That's presumably 100's of 1000's of folks (if not into the millions) around the world forking out money, without the cost of physically performing a show in each location.
Oh well.
More River tour archive releases please.
Pretty much confirmed no tour in 2022.
Somebody remind me to not mention a tour in next year's New Year's Day blog.
It'll happen someday guys.
On the plus side, it means we might get more Archive releases, if we're happy to have them.
Lately, everything seems to be about patience and waiting...
Maybe a dark thing to say but I don't think we get a tour while his Mum is still with us.
I think he'll be staying close to base, maybe a limited U.S. tour?
I don't think he's going to do an overseas tour.
I want another tour badly. I want at least one more show under my belt, but the truth is, if the band never tours again, they've given me more than a lifetime's worth of joy, tears and rock and roll.
I feel like I'm turning into a right little jinx where it concerns this next E Street world tour.
Word on the other forums is that it's very likely going to be delayed until 2023.
Keep the faith.
I feel those fans hoping or even expecting any of the three LTY 70's offcuts (I.e. Janey Needs, Priest, Orphans) are going to be disappointed. Redoing those in the studio is one thing, recreating those word salads nightly while desperately reading the teleprompter is another thing altogether.
Even if he does give it a go, I suspect the end result would be a let down. Still, he was doing Blinded nightly for a stint in 2016 so who knows...
My list go something like this.
Burnin Train
Ghost
The Ties That Bind
No Surrender
Last Man Standing
House of a Thousand Guitars
Where The Band Are
MLWNLYD
Roulette
Tucson Train
Power of Prayer
If I was The Priest
Night
Prove It All Night
Letter To You
One Minute You're Here
Two Hearts
Better Days
Radio Nowhere
The Ghost of Tom Joad
Badlands
Encore
Moonlight Motel
Backstreets
Dancing in the Dark
Born to Run
Rosy
I'll see you in my Dreams
all tunes are full band and electric
Open with Burnin Train close with I'll See You In My Dreams, the rest of the set should be heavy on LTY. I'm not a fan of WS, but it deserves some representation. I can see Tucson, Sleepy and Moonlight all making the list! I'll be happy!
Also, what I don't want to deal with is the stress related to online ticket sales. I have no problem with paying, just spare me the nerve-wracking process... I know there is no other way around it, but as much as it thrills me, it also frightens the shit out of me. Not getting the tickets on the official sites, and then the secondary market... (it still exists, right?) 😬
Okay, but I'll need a full-band I'll See You In My Dreams.
I'm still all for this as a core setlist.
I'm willing to wait longer just to get no Covid related restrictions and full capacity shows.
I wanna feel close to other Bruce loving people, and I don't want to avoid human interactions like I have the plague..
A new tour means a wealth of new downloads.
I'll see you in my dreams has to be the most perfect song to end on. The more listens I have, the more I think it is a perfect song full stop.
For those who don't spend anytime on other boards like BTX or the old place, the speculation as to what is to unfold is that they will forego the standard opening US arena leg that has been a feature of the last several tours and go straight to the early summer European stadium shows. The rumours seem to suggest the announcement of these Euro dates is imminent (as in, so imminent it may have been planned for early this week... but the breaking new COVID variant news has delayed it).
Then, it's speculated that the tour will hit US stadiums late northern summer.
So, basically like The River 2016, minus the opening arena leg in the US.
This is just what's being discussed elsewhere, shared here for those who may not have seen any of that discussion.
Open with Ghosts, close with I'll See You In My Dreams and play a bunch of songs in between with Western Stars and Letter To You featured prominently.
I hope the Covid situation makes it possible soon enough.
I'll be there when it happens.
I'm not setting myself up for disappointment, so I'm pinning my hopes on 2023 and will be happy when it happens in 2022.
Oh, is that something you might be interested in?
